Barn Whipping

The husband walked to the doorway, he grabbed the strap that hung there. I could feel the tears welling up in the corners of my eyes. Another night I was out too late, another trip to the barn with my Husband. He folded the belt in half and carried it in his right hand, he waited for me to walk out first. The night hair was cold I could see the steam from every petrified breath I took. I had a whipping earlier week so I knew Husband would be even more upset that we had to make another trip to the barn so soon. The barn set back away from the house 100 yards or so but it seemed like miles. I could hear every one of Husband’s footsteps behind me. He never said anything on the way to the barn. It was only in the barn where we were ever punished. Because if you were in trouble there was no other punishment. We knew how mad Husband was by how many strikes we got. And tonight I knew I was going to regret spending the extra time with Tommy.

Walking into the barn was scary, not because of the darkness or the creaking noises the barn made when the wind blew. This is how its always been my Husband got his whippings from Father’s Father in this barn when he was 18. Fathers Father never wanted Grandmother to know how bad he whipped his boys so he made sure he was far enough that the sound of their cries would not travel. Fathers Father has only whipped me one time, and it really made me grateful that my Husband was more compassionate about my cries. It’s always better after a whipping tho, the board get erased and there is a sort of relief that comes with the strap. And I knew Husband would walk by my side to the house rather than behind me. And he would wipe my tears before we went back into the house.

“Maria”. My Husband’s voice was stern. “Yes Sir”? In times like this I always called Husband Sir he always seemed to appreciate the respect and it showed when the strap was swung. “I do believe this is our second trip this week”. “Yes, Sir it is”. “I’m disappointed in you, I guess the last trip didn’t get the point across”. The husband never raised his voice it was always calm it made my heart sink to hear that he was disappointed in me. The tears started streaming down my face “I’m so sorry Husband, I didn’t realize what time it was” I ran to Husband and put my arms around his waist “I didn’t mean to disappoint you Sir” the tears were flowing so hard as I spoke I could taste the saltiness as they fell into my mouth. Husband placed his hand on my shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze, he knew I was sorry and I knew all would be right…….after.

I released my grip on my Husband I turned and walked to the back wall. I put my hands against the wall. I could hear my husband walking towards me and the click of the buckle as the strap swung from his hand. I had chills running up my back I knew the pain, my backside still hurts from the last visit I had with Husband to the barn. I spread my legs slightly to gain balance. I grab ahold of the rail that ran across the wall and held it tight. The whipping hadn’t even started yet and my knuckles were white from holding so tightly. I was ready. The husband’s hand rose and I could hear the sound of the strap pushing air as it made its way to my bottom. “WHACK” my eyes were clenched so hard it was a relief to open them. The 1st strike is always a shock. I cried out. “WHACK”. My bottom felt on fire as the sting from the strap went threw my pants. “WHACK” the third brought the tears. The fourth, fifth, and sixth made my hole backside burn. Seven, eight, and nine just increased the pain. “WHACK” and number 10 Husband always made sure the last one would impair proper sitting at the dinner table for at least 3 days. Oh, it was over I was so glad to hear throw the strap over his shoulder.

The husband pulled my tightly clenched hands from the rail and gave me a hug. I cried into the Husband’s shit for a few minutes before he led the way back to the house. He kept his arm around me the walk back always seems so much shorter than the walk to the barn. The husband stopped in front of the house and bent down. He wiped the tears from my cheeks gave me a smile and we walked into the house.
